ECCENTRIC LISTENING
Julia Robert

At first glance, Julia Robert's work defies description and categorization. It ranges from contemporary music for string quartet to transdisciplinary solo performances to a duo for viola/vocals and percussion/beatbox. She performs and composes in various groups, collaborates with stage directors, and leads her own company, Compagnie Leidesis. As diverse as their creations are, they are always united by the will to shake up the audience and offer new possibilities of listening. With a radical openness, confrontation with a wide variety of materials, new alliances and arrangements, Robert's work is in the sign of constant transformation.

My eccentric listening session is a brief immersion into some of my recent work as well as a discovery of pieces that have impacted my life as a listener and a musician. These music pieces hold a particular beauty and strength for me that I tried to retransmit within this playlist.
